Macady by Jennie Hansen
Home from college and working for the town paper, Macady Jackson leaves the family store to go horse-riding. She is completely unaware that Deputy Aaron Westerman has been investigating a small airfield in the area that he believes is being used to transport drugs. Aaron, unable to shake the feeling that he is being followed, has hidden in the bush.

From a distance, in her jeans and cowboy hat, Macady's lean figure is mistaken for Aaron's. The man following Aaron fires at Macady, and she is thrown into the bush.

When Aaron hurries to this unknown stranger, he is surprised to find Macady Jackson, a cousin of his childhood friends. The two manage to escape, only to learn that Macady's life is still in danger from those who are afraid she can identify them.

As threats against Macady's life mount, Aaron desperately tries to find the leader of the drug ring. He also finds his feelings for Macady growing more personal. Macady, in turn, is attracted to Aaron, but she has carefully avoided all relationships since her father left her mother for another woman years before. Macady's parents had been married in the temple, but her father and obviously chosen to reject them.
