A summer of freedom, friendship and lust…

Denise is a student of archaeology: a passionate, adventurous young woman, who is about to embark on what she hopes will be the trip of a lifetime. She plans to leave her dull life in London, for three months on a sleepy Greek island, as part of an exchange programme that offers students experience on a real archaeological dig site. She assumes that the trip will be a great opportunity to learn more about her subject, but she’s also looking forward to a few months of peace and quiet, and some much needed time alone.

Just in her early twenties, there’s still so much that Denise wants to see and do - the problem is that she’s attached to a man who wants stability and commitment. Dan’s a nice enough guy, but she knows something is wrong in their relationship; there’s something missing and she hopes that a summer apart will allow her to figure out what that something is and enable her to get her rather disorganized head together.

Denise is wrong about so many things. The Greek island and its people are far from sleepy; she learns almost nothing about archaeology and she doesn’t have a chance to get her head straight, because it’s being frazzled by one hot archaeologist.

Andreas is cocky, arrogant and, by all accounts, something of a player. Denise feels instantly shy, awkward and gauche around him, and there’s a part of her that hates his rudeness. However, there’s something else going on - an attraction that she tries to fight, but cannot.

One night at a beach party, Denise has a little too much to drink and, when Andreas tries to kiss her, her inhibitions are abandoned in favor of something much more pleasant. It’s the kind of soul-searing kiss she’s only ever read about. It’s passionate and hungry, desperate and expressive. But Andreas does not seem anywhere near as affected.

Feeling lonely and used, Denise determines to remain strong. She builds up a wall of anger and does her best to avoid him on the dig site. Just as she’s beginning to feel like the trip is a disaster rather than an adventure, Andreas approaches her one dark evening, as she swims in a deserted stream. She can’t hold onto her rage, especially when he tells her that he wants her desperately.

No longer in control of her brain or her body, Denise gives herself to him in a passionate frenzy on the hard rocks. What follows is a summer-long lesson in sexual pleasure, freedom and sheer bliss on a scale that Denise has never known. But all good things must come to an end, and the summer of joy comes to an abrupt halt when Andreas delivers some crushing news.
