The Purple Teepee by Jenny Schwartz
An inheritance is one thing, however, when a "contest" is to determine the outcome, Sonia Blake can no longer stand idly by. She is definitely in contention for the prize, a beautiful island off the Great Barrier Reef treasured by the Blake family for generations, and always handed down through the women. It should be kept private, but if her cousin Patrice gets a hold of it, the island would probably be commercialized, with little left for the family. To claim it from her Aunt Izzie as her inheritance, there is definitely a condition to be met that puts a hitch in her "giddy-up." It is also one she is not real anxious to remedy either. In order to Inherit Aurora Island, Sonya has to be married! Joel was teasing when he offered to be the sacrificial goat on Sonia's "Altar of Marriage", but the more he thought on it, the better the idea sounded. Marriage to Sonia would not be a picnic, but there were advantages, even if it was only temporary. Sonia was an attractive and strong-willed woman, but she also had qualities Joel admired. Her temperament amused him to say the least, but knowing she would keep asking her male acquaintances until someone said yes, bothered him. Now when their feet are to the fire, can these two come to terms with the unexpected passion that flares between them? Can this really be the love Sonia has been skeptical of ever having, and will she be able to keep Joel and gain Aurora Island too?
