Neighbors For Better or For Worse by Laurel Joseph
Arthur Chase Paddington the Third is disgusted when he learns that his neighbor, Hank Matthews, is a woman! His lawyer calmly explains that ‘Hank’ is a nickname for Henrietta Josephine, but the young spitfire prefers ‘Hank’. The man also explains that he’ll get farther with Miss Matthews if he treats her with courtesy instead of disdain when he offers to buy her out.

If Hank didn’t have enough trouble with her dude of a neighbor planning to pay her and her sister Dorothea a social call, she would never again be able to go swimming in her special place. She’d been enjoying her swim when a man stripped down to the buff and joined her. He thought to make love with her, and although Hank was tempted, reality intruded and she saved herself by putting her knee where it mattered.

The man cursed her and promised retribution, but Hank was sure she’d never see him again. Besides, she had to get rid of the dude who now owned the neighboring ranch and send him on his way before her illegal activity was discovered.

Chase was determined to be polite to the spinster, but when the door opened and he found himself facing the woman who’d nearly unmanned him, he wanted nothing more than to turn her over his knee!
