Mistaken by Laurel Joseph
Jolie gasped in outrage as he used his booted foot to pull her chair away from the table, and then sat down. In the next instant, she was face-down over his thighs, looking at the cracks in the wooden floor. "No!" she protested in vain just seconds before Drew's hand landed on the seat of her jeans. "Noooooooooo!" she kicked her legs. But Drew simply ignored her and spanked her poor bottom until she was crying. "Do you think you can sit here now and listen to Wes" Drew asked. When the little blonde nodded, he gave her one more resounding whack, and then lifted her to her feet. "You sure as heck do know how to try a man's patience, little girl." He pulled the chair to the table, and then motioned for her to sit.

"You're just as crazy as he is," Jolie pointed at Wes. Her poor backside was simply on fire, and she needed to get out of here so she could tend to herself.

"I can sure as sin see why you'd think that," Wes spoke up, staring hard at her face, ?But you?ve got to believe us. You're the spittin' image of my wife, Jacy. You've just got to be Jolie" Jolie's chin turned up, and Wes grinned at the stubborn gesture. "You even hold your head like Jacy does when she's bein' stubborn, and just beggin' for a trip to the woodshed!"

"I don't have no family. I told you that. Now get out of my way!" The last was tossed in Drew's direction.

"Jolie, that IS your name, isn't it" Drew asked with a friendly smile.

"What if it is Doesn't mean anything" she quickly denied.

"It means that you have a sister who is dying to meet you," Drew responded in a quiet voice.
