Marley Rockford and Richard Collins have been friends since their days in college.

Marley, now a successful romance novelist, whose books have made her famous for their full-figured heroines. Even though she has always been a big woman herself, her weight has always been a constant reminder of her own insecurity even when others have never thought about it.

Richard, a photographer and art gallery owner whose handsome good looks and work behind the camera has made him the talk of New York.
