She was about to get out, but Cooper stopped her. She looked over to him frowning.

"What?"

"I want you to lock the car doors and only let me back in. Is that clear?" he told her sternly.

His hard blue eyes held an air of danger to them as he looked at her.

She looked back to the house, swallowed and then nodded.

"Is...is something wrong?" she asked him before he got out.

"I'm not sure." He leaned over her opening the glove box and pulled out a nine millimeter before closing it.

"But it's better to be safe than sorry."

He got out of the Jeep, studied the house and then leaned down in the open door frame.

His eyes pierced hers. "Remember, only me, no one else."

She nodded solemnly and locked the car doors as he left.
