Stepping Stones by Louise Pakeman
On learning her mother is dying, Dianne Mcarthy leaves her home in England to be with her mother in Australia – a place she once called home.

But home for Dianne was now England – she had her flat, her cat, her career and most of all, the man she loves, Tony.

Shortly after her arrival in Australia, her mother dies.

Unexpectedly, Dianne’s mother leaves their childhood house to her – possibly in the hope that Dianne will leave England and the life she built for herself there.

But does Dianne want this house? Does she want a life in Australia?

Dianne is surprised to find her childhood sweetheart, Stephen, acting as her mother’s lawyer, and before long old feelings start to re-surface.

But what does she really want? A comfortable, courteous existence in her childhood home in country Australia, with Stephen; or the passion and pace of a fiery relationship with Tony in England?

As Dianne struggles with where her loyalties truly lie, she turns for solace to her mother’s memories, hoping to find peace and understanding.

Instead, she is left reeling by the discovery of a deep family secret which she finds impossible to reconcile.

Will she stumble and fall, or will Dianne find each stepping stone on the path to true love?
