Liftoff: A Short Story About Loss, Love And The Space It Needs To Grow by Helen Cassidy Page
A SHORT STORY ABOUT LOSS, LOVE AND THE SPACE IT NEEDS TO GROW.

What would keep you from plunging your dinner knife into your husband's heart?

Mary and Fred live together in respectable misery. They hide secrets from the neighbors and each other. The prayers they say over dinner are as lifeless as the pork chops and Brussels sprouts growing cold on their plates.

Since the death of their only son in WWII, the artifacts of their son's love of Jules Verne haunt them.

Mary blames herself for not stopping young Freddy from enlisting. Fred blames Mary for everything.

They are doomed to spend the rest of their lives in limbo - until a history making event changes everything.

This is a 6400 word short story, NOT a novel.
