Don't Worry ... We Warned Them You Big Boned: One Amerasian Girl's Search for Love, Acceptance, and a Dress That Fits by Alice J. Puddy
Lila Beeby is living a life that fits like acid wash jeans and a flannel shirt – convenient, but unbecoming. She vowed never to return to her hometown, a place filled with unpleasant memories of exclusion for her as a chubby girl surrounded by cousins who looked like the Swedish Ski Team. Memories of her Korean mother being rejected and treated cruelly by the WASPy in-laws. It’s no wonder that Lila high-tailed it to the big city as soon as possible. Now, decades later, she finds her still-chubby-self working in the family business right on her childhood Main Street.

But then a visit to her birthplace overseas triggers a series of events that some might call downright “mystical.” Lila finally realizes her unfortunate waist-to-hip ratio doesn’t mean she also needs to be unfortunate in love. With the help of her best friends, she is able to forge an unexpected new career path, heal past wounds, and uncover a handsome stranger who was waiting for her all along.
