Catch You Later by Boris Erlank
Chris Du Toit, a recent Architecture graduate living in Cape Town, is struggling to find a job. To the outside world, Chris seems someone who has it all – he is handsome, charming, an accomplished swimmer and dancer, and from a successful professional family. But Chris’s life has been marked by a terrible tragedy that he has struggled to come to terms with. A chance reunion with his childhood sweetheart, Julie, sets in motion a series of events that dramatically stir up the past, and force him to confront his inner demons.
Catch You Later is set against the spectacular backdrop of Cape Town, in the multicultural melting pot of the “New South Africa”. The action ranges across a broad sweep of this dynamic country - from the wine estates and mansions of Constantia, through the yuppie world of Sea Point, to an AIDS orphanage and the squatter shacks of Mandela Park.
The author provides an up-to-date perspective of the country’s challenges - like AIDS and crime – but also of the optimism, diversity, and vibrancy of the “Rainbow Nation”.
