Meet Nick, an unhappy middle-aged New York City wise guy and erstwhile film critic looking for love and a new career. To leave his old life behind, Nick makes his boss an offer that he can’t refuse: the meal of a lifetime in return for quitting the business—no strings (or bullets) attached.

But Nick’s foolproof plan for leaving the family business begins to unravel when his boss’s wild dietary preferences prove more challenging than he’d anticipated. Throw in a dehydrated monkey, homicidal jungle foliage, a squeamish pulp-violence film director, and a love-interest leading her own confounding double-life, and Nick’s easy stroll into the sunset seems more like a jog through a minefield.
