Susan has grown up in the Amish community. She had the option to participate in the Amish tradition of Rumspringa, a time in which teenagers can break a few rules of the Amish Church without fear of being shunned, but did not take the opportunity then. Now all of the sudden, she has reached a point in her life when she feels the need to get out there and experience life, and all it has to offer.
