BLAKE - Part One

I let the hot waters steam off my head as I lean forward against the wall in my shower. The heaviest punch of last night’s booze has all but drained from my blood.

Any clarity I bring to my job as a private investigator I find here in my own shabbily tiled shower. I may not have a forensics background or a history on the police force or some kind of sixth sense you might attribute to the storied PIs in history or literature.

But I can get women to talk or purr or believe in things they’ve long forgotten and women are the best informants in this cold, dark city.
