Man Advantage by Van Barrett
His piercing, ice-blue stare strikes fear in the hearts of opponents. But Tanner always wondered if there was something else lurking behind those beautiful but somber eyes ...

Promising hockey prospect Lee Tanner practically idolizes his mentor, the rugged veteran David Brock. The strong-but-silent captain made it his responsibility to make sure that young Tanner's head is exactly where it needs to be: focused on hockey and free from distractions, on and off the ice.

When a hotel mix-up lands the two beat-up and dead-tired athletes in a lover's suite -- with one bed instead of two -- they agree to keep a secret, and an arm's length between their muscled bodies.

But that same night, a surprising trade severs their partnership. They have one last night together to show how they really feel about each other -- without hockey getting in the way for once.

Can Tanner see something in those eyes that nobody else can see? Does Brock know something about Tanner that even he doesn't know yet? Can Brock be more than just a mentor ?
