Change of Plans by LF Gillis, Kathy Shell, John Baker
This is not your normal love story. Change of Plans goes beyond simple romance.

Genna Swanson is a courageous nurse who loves her family and cares about her patients. After an emergency room altercation leaves her with an aggressive strand of AIDS, she focuses on finding a suitable replacement. She asks her husband, Jake, to place an announcement in their church's bulletin, asking for people to come and visit her. What she's really doing is interviewing potential mates for Jake. While watching their church's televised Sunday service, Genna notices a woman sitting in the third row smiling at Jake as he sang his solo. There was an adoration in the woman's eyes that put Genna at ease.

Jake, Genna's husband and agriculture teacher at Morgansville High, is busy running the family's small farm and trying to raise their daughters Cheyenne, Lauren, and Kelly. Aside from a hired nurse, he's Genna's primary caretaker. Deep inside he knows Genna is dying, he choses not to think about it.

Emily Ryan is a divorced middle school English teacher who writes romance. When a new student, Lauren Swanson, enters her advanced English class, she sets up a meeting with the child's parents.

Surprise! Emily Ryan is the woman in the third row. Now all Genna has to do figure out how to get Emily and Jake to fall in love. But Emily has other ideas.

Change of Plans goes deeper than a simple love story. It's about love of friends and family. It's also about personal tolerance and acceptance. Jake and Emily will be tested in ways they never thought possible.

Although the main characters are Christians, and there are church scenes, Change of Plans in no way preaches anything. The people in this novel aren't perfect. They have real feelings and make mistakes.

Set in the small town of Morgansville, Florida, you'll experience real small-town, southern life. So come along and see who's plan gets followed. It might just be everyone's.
