Jada Foster, a proud, hard-working, African American woman, is fed up with men and determined to make it all on her own, but she desperately wants to share her life with a child. After choosing her ideal characteristics at the sperm bank, she is excited to be inseminated with a black athlete DNA. However, she soon discovers she did not receive what she ordered, though she was indeed pregnant .
Dallas and Jada both have strong opinions of how to raise their child, with contrasting backgrounds and expectations. Though they cannot deny the attraction they feel toward one another, how can they possibly unite their worlds that seem to only tear them apart?
