Successful lawyer Mackenzie Harper is not happy to get the invite to her 20th high school class reunion, since it only brings back bad memories of a time she’s long tried to forget. A time when she was teased by her peers because of her weight issues, and plagued by a hurtful nickname and hateful rumors—until the day she’s called upon to tutor the one guy who means everything to her, David Ashbury.
David Ashbury has it all in high school...the popular linebacker catches the eye of every girl he comes across and is the buddy of every guy in his school. One day he discovers that the only way to stay on the team is to pass History class, and that will require that he be tutored by the shy girl everyone calls ‘Mack Attack’. He doesn’t believe the rumors about her but it takes an effort for him to break through her shell, improve her high school experience, and develop a warm friendship that both treasure.
