The Spy Catcher by Selina MacPherson, S.K. McClafferty
The tiny Catskill mountain village of Abundance New York has had a devil of a time keeping a minister for the Congregationalist Church. So, when a candidate arrives to fill the position, Fallon Deane, niece to the local magistrate and a deacon of the church, is greatly relieved. Yet, the Right Reverend Draegan Mattais is not at all what Fallon anticipated.

Tall and lean and shockingly sensual, he has the look of a fallen angel and a commanding presence at the pulpit. The villagers are mesmerized, and so is sensible, patriotic Fallon—yet even as she falls under Draegan Mattais’s dark spell, she senses that where the new minister is concerned, something just isn’t quite right.

Fallon suspects that Reverend Mattais is keeping secrets, and when she finds a brace of pistols hidden in the rectory, she raises questions Draegan can’t answer.

A major in the Continental Army, who excels at counter-espionage, Draegan’s mission is to ferret out a traitorous spy and settle a score with a ruthless militia captain. But Draegan’s justice may come with a price. For unmasking the villains surrounding beautiful, irresistible Fallon, may shatter the most precious love Draegan has ever known.
