COTTON SONG: The Collected Books (ROMANCE, HISTORICAL, INTERRACIAL) by Monsoon Lain
This collection compiles the legendary, grand tale of Karen Jennings, a brave, adventurous young woman trapped by the stifling plantation system in the antebellum South. One day Karen saves the life of a handsome slave named Ben, a man with a kind heart, a strong body, and a yearning for freedom.

This sets in motion a series of events that will emanate to Natchez Mississippi and all the way down river to New Orleans. The following weeks will change lives forever, not only the lives of Karen and Ben, who find solace in each other's arms, but also the lives of Karen's blood uncle, the owner of the plantation, and his adoring wife, Karen's aunt.

In Natchez Karen and Ben run into a promoter and all around con man named Coutrell. Coutrell harbors no attachments to slavery as a system, and no inherent prejudices. He values money above all else, and he thinks he knows how to help Ben gain his freedom, but the escaped slave will have to fight for it.

So open up this novella and travel back in time to a dying era, a time where passions ran hot and the steam of New Orleans brothels spilled out onto those voodoo magic streets. A time where freedom was just around the corner, and only the most adventurous of souls allowed their desires to look upon forbidden flesh.
