How excited Miss Caroline Pennington and her close friend Miss Lilith Saunders are to attend their first season in Bath. The year is 1778 and the order of the day is to have fun. Indeed so much do they want to make the most of their time in Bath, Caroline and Lilith decide it is imperative they undertake the following: -
Number One: Meet fine handsome young men.
Number Two: Throw themselves eagerly into the social scene.
Number Three: People watch and ... gossip.
A small list completed but nevertheless a vital one for two eighteen-years olds about to step-out into the world as young adults, plus Caroline is fond of writing a list.
Within days of their arrival Caroline and Lilith are glad to flirt and dance their evenings away and unsurprisingly swiftly catch the eye of one or two rather eligible men. Surely a situation which cannot run smoothly, especially when a rather charming and handsome Sir Joshua Wallis is involved?
As well as catching the eye of several men, quickly the friends make new acquaintances and re-establish older relationships - relationships which prove to be both enjoyable but problematic. Problematic as too soon the friends get caught-up in a trail of secrets, lies and certainly much misunderstanding.
'Mischief, Mayhem and Misunderstanding' is a dramatic Georgian Romance which centres on Caroline Pennington, her close friend Lilith Saunders, their family, friends and the many acquaintances they meet in Bath.
