Slick as Oil Vol. 1 by Melissa Tatum
Far removed from the city life of Dallas, Texas – in a lavish and beautiful bungalow resides a man named Jason Pritchett. At first glance, you wouldn’t think of him as anything other than handsome at 6 ft tall with baby blue eyes and an equally endearing smile. But apart from being charming, he is also the owner of the well reputed Pritchett Oil Ltd, a family business that has blessed them with the abundance of luxuries.
However he lives as simple a lifestyle as he can, and his colleagues and employees adore him for his kind persona that has absolutely no sense of arrogance. He lives a very normal lifestyle, sometimes too boring for him. Texas brings with a strong gust of wind Margot Watson, an African American who has come to seek her fortune from a small town. She gets a job in Jason’s company, and there is something that attracts them to one another.
As his personal secretary, she is with him or managing his work almost all the time, often having to complete tasks at odd times of the day. Jason finds himself becoming very fond of her as she is an extremely sincere and hard-working employee. He tries to flirt with her subtly so as not to hurt her feelings, but she seems a little distant. Margot likes Jason a lot from the beginning, but is scared to show her feelings for fear of being called a gold-digger.
They go away to another city for a meeting that Jason has to attend, and sparks fly over there that they are unable to avoid. They confess their feelings for one another but resolve to keep it a secret from the office and Jason’s family on his request.
