Lost in the woods, Victoria encounters a strange but attractive man. He is no ordinary man, however. He is the owner of the estate where Victoria begs to serve him in any way he desires in exchange for protection from her former lover. He reluctantly promises, not wanting to be disturbed. Before long, Victoria discovers more about him, as he becomes a dangerous beast under the full moon. She is in danger, too, but not from him. It’s the beast inside him that he cannot control.

Leon lay in his bed, fighting the urges which erupted in his being. He could picture Victoria in bed next to him in a sheer white nightgown, her flowing hair draped around her like a veil. He knew it was a bad idea to have a woman in his estate with him. But as he gripped the bed, he continued to imagine Victoria next to him. His animal instincts were beginning to take control, and although he tried to fight them, he knew the beast inside him would soon be realized. He had to get out before Victoria knew what he really was.

The next morning, Victoria looked around the room that appeared dark, cold, and dirty. She lay on top of a silk purple bed which appeared as if somebody had attempted to give it a fast cleaning but failed. There was a glass pitcher at her bedside that was filled with clean water, and she knew it had been left there by Leon in case she became thirsty in the middle of the night. The unspoken concern made her heart feel warm. Perhaps he wasn’t too upset that she had sought refuge in his house.
