It Was Always Us: Love In These Miami Streets by Angie Hayes
Sky wasn't your average fifteen year old. With her father deceased, her mother not in her life, and a grandmother too old to control her, she and her friends do whatever and whoever they wish. That is until she meets Ronnie. Finally finding someone that will love her, she falls hard and decides to change her life for the better. When Ronnie is arrested soon after and sent to prison, Sky is left alone to fend for herself. Soon after, someone from her past comes back around and does the unthinkable, leaving her damaged and not able to trust again. Years later, a chance encounter puts her face-to-face with the man she loves. Will it be too late for Sky to get back into Ronnie’s life, or will the secret she had been keeping turn him away forever?

Ronnie is what you would call a boss. He’s feared and respected in Miami and gets exactly what it is that he wants, so once he lays eyes on Sky, he knows that there was no doubt that she would be his. After being sent to prison, he’s shocked, as well as disappointed when he finds out that Sky has been cheating on him. The turn of events makes Ronnie wonder if Sky had really changed, or if she had been playing him the entire time. When a shady government official is investigated, and he is released on a technicality, Ronnie hits the streets like he never left; the problem is Sky is still on his mind. Will he forget about her and move on, or will he take another change at love?

Follow Ronnie and Sky on this roller coaster ride that is filled with drama and secrets. Friends turn into foes and lies are exposed. In this story, the duo will both learn that there is no love out here in these Miami streets.
