Love… What is love?

I had never felt it growing up, moving from foster home to foster home. Then I met her. The woman I wanted to spend the rest of my life with. The woman who showed me what love really was.

Loss… I know what that is.

Mere hours before I left for boot camp, I lost her. The only love I’d ever known was gone, just like that.

Living… Is what I had to do.

The Army was my only life and falling for another woman was never my plan.

Love, loss, life…

Everything flashed before my eyes when I realized I needed this woman in my life, for keeps, and I’d do anything to protect her, even if it meant dying in the process.
