Close to Santa's Heart by Suzanne Ferrell
Westen is a small town full of traditions, especially around Christmas time. There are holiday parties, the annual three-day Yuletide Jubilee craft fair, and a tree-lighting service on the town square where the Kissing Bough is hung in the square’s gazebo. Tradition holds that if you kiss your true love beneath the bough of mistletoe before Christmas morning, you’ll be married within the year. If you don’t they’ll be lost to you forever.

For the past ten years Sheriff Deputy Cleetus Junkins has happily been the town’s Santa for all the festivities. A gentle giant of a man, he delights in bringing holiday happiness to the residents and guests of Westen. When the little pixie of a hair dresser, Sylvie Gillis agrees to play elf to his Santa, Cleetus dreams of giving her a Christmas she’s never experienced and hopes to seal the season with a kiss beneath the Kissing Bough.

Sylvie Gillis came to Westen to escape her family and start a new life. Here she’s found a job, home and the attention of Cleetus. Who wouldn’t fall under the spell of the town’s resident Santa? But when her past catches up with her, will she be able to win Santa’s heart beneath the Kissing Bough or end up breaking it?
