Excerpt:
'"Hi…" was all she managed to say. She was looking directly at Darion. Looking straight into his blue eyes. He was smiling. It was harder to see him clearly in the glow from the lamp, but the mental picture of him that she had seen in his mind filled in any blanks.

He was tall – taller than the other two men that stood either side of him – and fairly slim, though not too slim. He had short brown hair that kind of stuck up on top.

"Hi yourself!" he laughed, and he stepped forward to greet her.

She didn't know what to do – should she shake his hand or just stand there? She felt very nervous, like a shy schoolgirl. What should she do? She felt silly.

"What took you so long?" he laughed.

"Well, there was this…" Her voice trailed off as she realised that he was just joking.

They just stood there, looking deeply into each other's eyes. She could feel the tension within her. Feel the adrenalin pumping through her body. Even though it was a warm, humid evening, she started to shiver. She noticed that her breathing was shallow and tried to force herself to take deeper breaths.'
---
After travelling to a remote jungle planet to study its primitive people, Zhenna Rhodarma was the victim of an illegal experiment. They transferred her consciousness into the body of an amphibious alien that had telepathic and telekinetic abilities.

She escaped from their underground lab, but found herself in the jungle. And the jungle is a hostile and dangerous place. After avoiding being a dinosaur's next meal, she is poisoned by a native plant, which causes her to hallucinate. While she is vulnerable, she is caught by hideous Beast-men who trade in slavery.

While still suffering from the hallucinogenic effects of the plant, Zhenna was somehow able to communicate telepathically with Darion - a Telepath who works in the other underground base on the planet. He was able to help her get rid of the poison using her own Talent and he kept in contact with her while she was sold and taken further into the jungle.

Then it's a race against time as he sets out to find her and rescue her. But the scientist that conducted the mind-swap is after her too.

Approximately 98,000 words. Sci-fi/Paranormal/Romance.
