When Love Comes Knocking: Always A Bridesmaid (BWWM Heat)
Marsha Tyrone
She realizes that most men are unwilling to continue dating a woman who will never get under the sheets unless there is a ring on her finger first.
On this particular sunny day, she is her usual bridesmaid self, and paired at the Niagara Falls nuptials to a much younger usher. The very handsome and white Darren is a paltry twenty-one compared to her far more ancient thirty. He does, however, seem so very much mature for his age.
Mable is fond of him immediately, and finds him very attractive and very nice. She finds herself falling for him and tosses out the fact to him that she is still a virgin and will remain one until she is married. Darren, however, finds her declaration more self-serving than for his benefit. He guesses that she is beginning to crack and that she is ready and willing to get intimate with a man if he is sincere, handsome and sexy. Darren knows that in her eyes he is all those things and more. And so, despite the racial divide and the fact he is so much younger, she reassesses both her wavering heart and her enraptured mind.
Darren is all she ever hoped for in a man, and yet, a part of her wants to mess it up and sabotage her own chances before she gets in too deep. She realizes that she could end up with a badly broken heart and an uncrossed pair of unforgiving legs. She wonders if he is really falling for her like he hints, or only trying to use her to get what he wants. She is smart enough to know that the final proof will be in the interracial pudding. Either they will end up going their separate ways, or her giving up her virgin status may be the powder keg that brings her everything she’s ever wanted. Unless, of course, the next wedding she attends is still as a bridesmaid…
