Together Again by Aiden Bates
They split up ten years ago. Fate brought them together again, on a case with life or death consequences. Can they fix what went wrong, or will they both spend their lives mourning for what they lost?

Elias let his own frustrations and his family’s disapproval drive him apart from his boyfriend, Pat Tessaro, just before graduation. That was just the beginning of his troubles, but once his world stopped ending he got back on his feet. He works to save missing children now. When he gets assigned to a bizarre case involving an archaic illness in Boston, he figures it’s just another case.

Pat Tessaro didn’t let getting dumped, and kicked out of his apartment, right before graduation keep him down. Elias was just one more person in a long string of people who’d let him down. He got onto his feet and kept moving, although he never got close to anyone again. Now the wild child of the Cold Case department, he specializes in messy cases. The case with the missing child that turns up dead of an archaic illness, ten years after he was abducted, is messy.

Things get even messier when the consultant sent by a leading missing children’s advocacy group to help investigate the case turns out to be Pat’s ex. Nothing is what it seems, neither with the case nor between them. The clock is ticking on finding resolution, before a deadly outbreak strikes the state.
