Billie McCracken, a trained Chef, worked in upscale restaurants. Then she and her lover, Jacques, moved to Omaha and opened a French bistro. Jacques played her false, gambled away her money and she threw him out. In desperation, since she was broke, Billie took a job cooking for a cattle ranch crew in Valentine, Nebraska. The owner is young and handsome, but he doesn’t know what or who he wants. The college professor she met at the ranch knows what he wants but Billie isn’t ready to let him have it. She cooks up wonderful meals for the wranglers while she tries to decide what SHE wants.
