Broken Pieces: Book 3 by Noelle Rahn-Johnson
It's been a few months since Hayden smashed his car after a night of heavy drinking and his brain is stuck inside of himself, in a coma. He poured out his soul to Cece that night at Betsey Ann and Colton's wedding. He opened up on how much he loves her. He wants to be in a relationship with her but she doesn't feel that towards Hayden.
Cece's afraid she's going to lose him. She whispers in his ear, "Hayden, I need you to open up your eyes for me and talk to me. I need to know that you're okay. I want to go home with you."
When Hayden finally wakes up, he's very angry at her. He yells at her to get out of his hospital room. He's never yelled at her before. They've been best friends since the second grade. He throws some nasty words at Cece to hurt her like she hurt him those months before.
Hayden feels betrayed by Cece after he tells her he loves her and is extremely angry at her and can't get over the anger aimed at her. After a one-night stand, hurting Cece verbally and throwing his anger around at her, he finally realizes that he still loves her and misses her and their lost relationship. He thinks up a plan to win her back with the help of his friends.
Cece misses Hayden after he's pushed her away and she realizes that she truly loves him. But with his anger, she's afraid to talk to him. With Hayden and his broken bones, aching body and no best friend. He's lost the only woman he loves. The only woman he wants. She's his whole world.
Paige, Ronan, Colton and Betsey Ann all try to help Cece and Hayden make their way back to each other with a little help from Joelle as well.
Can Hayden over-come this anger and become friends again with Cece or is there no going back to what they once were? When Cece realizes her love for Hayden has changed, is she willing to allow Hayden in again? Will their love grow into more than friendship?
In the ultimate betrayal from Hayden, he rips Cece's world apart as her love for him increases. Can Hayden make up for all of the emotional torment he's thrown at Cece and will a future baby out of that betrayal push her away for good?
Will they finally love each other the way they were meant to?
Will they find their Forever, Always?
