A Family Affair by Max Hudson
A violent organization that kills men who sleep with other men.

A New Yorker in search of something more in California.

A young man who falls in love too deeply—too openly.

It’s the 1940s, and Walter Lombardi is tired of being a grunt man for the Da Mosto Family—a powerful Italian mob family on the east coast. He wants more—more money, more status, more respect.

When it becomes clear that he’s never going to get any of that if he stays with the Da Mostos, he goes to California to start anew with a different Family: the Aspromonte Family, a smaller mob organization that might take him more seriously.

He never expects to fall for Carlo Aspromonte, the Boss’ twenty-something year old son who is too noble to live the kind of life he’s living. And as Walter gets more entangled in Carlo’s life, he learns there are a lot more things going on that the Boss doesn’t know anything about.

Amid deception, innocence, lies and truth, Walter finds himself taking more and more risks to not only ensure his place in the Aspromonte Family, but to keep Carlo as his for as long as he can—despite the high risks. There are more to people—to love—than Walter had ever dared to imagine, and the more he learns this, the harder it becomes to do the smart thing and walk away before it’s too late.

Please Note: This book contains some sexually explicit scenes & may contain course language, it is intended for 18+ Adults Only. This is a novella, approx. 25,000+ words in length. It has a HEA (happy ever after ending) & does not end with a "cliffhanger".
