The Alien's Princess: Royal Guard of Alra (An Alien SciFi Romance) by Scarlett Rhone
Laney Drake knew she was destined for more than cleaning the rooms at the airport hotel. But her father had walked out of her life without a word when she was eight, and that doesn’t exactly make a girl grow up to be confident and eager to take on the world.

But only after she learns that her father has been murdered does it all start to make sense…sort of.

Her father, king of the alien planet Alra, left her on Earth as a child to ascend the throne, but as his only heir the duties of ruling the kingdom now fall to her. Laney soon learns that Rion, her childhood friend and her longtime secret “bestie” crush, is actually a member of the Royal Guard, sent to Earth years ago to protect her. Now, the two must journey to the distant Cepheus system in order for her to claim her rightful place as queen.

While her secret feelings for Rion begin to emerge, there are a far more serious problems awaiting her on her strangely beautiful home planet. The thrill of new love is overshadowed by a murderer intent on taking down the royal family, and the good citizens of Alra don’t exactly open their arms for a half-breed taking the throne.

Laney has a choice to make: fulfill her rightful place as Princess, or go back to the safety—and the heartache—of her old life?
