Pure Bred: Book Four of the Shelter Series by Kate Sherwood
Seb Tanner takes a summer job with a community organization in a disadvantaged Seattle neighborhood because he wants to network, have some fun, and, sure, help out. It’ll be like the Peace Corps without the annoyance of having to get extra vaccinations.

But the neighborhood he’s working in is Trey Fiso’s stomping grounds, and Trey doesn’t appreciate spoiled rich boys coming in and trying to tell the locals how to run their lives.

When things get rough, the neighborhood expects Seb to run back to his safe life, but he surprises everyone, including himself. He turns his condo into a sanctuary for Trey as he recovers from a beating, and the two discover they have more in common than they thought.

Still, their worlds are too different, and Seb comes from the kind of people Trey’s spent his life fighting against. When the two discover just how close Seb is to literally being the enemy, they know they have to be smart and stay away from each other. Of course, Trey’s never been known for being smart, and Seb’s learning a lot from Trey this summer…
