Kristen Sullivan’s father has recently passed away. In her grief, she has come to the small town of Seaside Beach, where he worked in the military base. Here, she takes up residence in the off-base apartment that was her father’s, and gives herself the task of organizing her father’s belongings. However, being surrounded by his father’s presence soon proves too much for her, and she starts spending time at the local coffeehouse, on her laptop, engrossed in her hobby, programming. James Heath and David Novak have been best friends since middle school. They went to Seaside Beach High School together and upon graduation they decided to join the army together. Now they are just out of basic and waiting to graduate from AIT as intelligence officers. James is outgoing, a big flirt and very charming, but doesn’t like conflict and will do almost anything to avoid it. David is a bit more reserved, with piercing green eyes and blond hair. He’s extremely polite and very interested in philosophy and literature; however, what most are unaware of is that most of the terrible plans that landed him and James into trouble were his idea, and James was just going along with it.
