Saving Faith by Nelli Mason
Oklahoma- June, 1877
Unable to choose the life that she wants, Annabelle continues to string Oliver along while she takes her sweet time deciding what is best for her and her child. She doesn’t want to give up the life she has, not after her last marriage had left her broken. The last thing Annabelle needed was another man running her life, nor did she ever want to be reliant on anyone again. Perhaps it’s time for both of them to move on, it might be what’s best.
Oliver Roberts had spent the last couple years building the life he thought Annabelle wanted. Although, Annabelle continues to refuse his offer to join him on the ranch. Oliver loves her more than anything, but is growing tired of waiting for her. Every time he asks her to come home, his heart grows a bit colder with her rejection. Perhaps he is just destined to grow old, alone on his ranch. He can’t continue to set himself up for the hurt she causes with each refusal.
When trouble comes into Annabelle’s life though, it’s Oliver that she turns to for help, making her realize that she might not need a man, however, she needs a friend that will last a lifetime. After all, she can’t expect her best friend, Jane, to always be there. Not after she learns about the secret affair Jane is having with Annabelle’s brother, Milton, that is. But can Oliver prove he loves her enough for her to make the leap into marriage?
Meanwhile, Jane is working hard to keep her relationship with Milton hidden, after all, neither of them want anything everlasting. If word got out, Jane may lose her teaching career. She can attempt to keep it quiet from the town folks, but not from her best friend, Annabelle. Although to her surprise, Annabelle isn’t as approving as Jane would like. Can she still trust her to keep quiet? Will Annabelle help Jane hide the relationship? Or will Annabelle ruin the few days she has with Milton before he has to return to the Ranger’s Station?
