Abandoned and rejected by her own kin, Lucinda, a young big and beautiful woman, is desperate to fit in with her own family after her father dies. Little does she know that her mother has other plans for her and has agreed to send her off to marry a man she doesn’t know and leave her family behind.

Lucinda know’s that she’s not petite, ladylike, and demure like her sister. All she wants to do is milk the cows, slop the pigs and manage to crops. The only hope for her, according to her mother, is to land a husband by becoming a mail-order bride.

Texas cowboy, Wash Jeffers, who lives in a town with few women, is looking for a wife and Cinda’s mother decides that he’s the one. But on her wedding day, when her husband sees her for the first time, he makes a comment about her size that humiliates her. She can’t forgive him and gives him no chance to make amends, even when he tries. The trail boss who befriends Cinda just makes matters worse and causes a whole new set of problems for the new couple.

Is their marriage doomed just as it’s started or does Cinda give Wash a second chance…?
