Lorelei Morte Believes! She believes in the paranormal and knows that vampires, werewolves, and witches are real. The problem is convincing her older sister, Julia, who tells her that a love like what happens in all the paranormal romance novels just doesn't exist. When their parents are hired by the Smithsonian to catalog a large cache of previously unknown tombs in Egypt, it means Lorelei will miss her first prom and she's beyond consolable. Julia arranges for them to view the tomb to distract her sister from her melancholy outbursts but soon after arriving, strange things happen. Lorelei is convinced the drawing of the Egyptian God is a true living God. Their life is turned upside down after Lorelei wanders into the desert, leaving Julia alone and feeling responsible for everything that happens afterward. Julia must learn to accept the truth, that Lorelei might not have been wrong, that Egyptian Vampires are real and so is everything else when she moves to Moonlight Cove and discovers an entire world of immortals the world doesn't knows exists.
