But one week before Christmas, he received a call from the cheating couple that they were moving in together, a reminder to Thomas of their infidelity, it was the last straw, and Thomas knew he had to get away, even if it meant being in a dangerous snow storm.
What drove Elena Kensington-Davenport out into a blinding blizzard one week before Christmas? Fear and desperation of losing her four-year-old son to her ex-husband and his power-hungry family. After losing custody of her son due to a lie perpetrated by the almighty Davenports, Elena felt she had no other recourse but to take her child and run. On her way to a secluded cabin in the Arbuckle Mountains in Oklahoma, the treacherous weather causes her to lose control of her car, the result, an accident, caused by Elena, with writer, Thomas Hart, that renders him unconscious.
In the out of the way cabin, Elena nurses the injured writer back to health, and as he grows stronger, so does their attraction to each other, even though their hearts and lives are connected to their painful pasts.
With the constant thought of Elena being found by her ex-husband, and Thomas trying to find peace with his heartbreak, together with Elena’s son, the three find happiness in a winter wonderland in the little cabin on the hill.
Thomas knows the world of contentment he’d found with Elena and her son was only temporary, but was determined to make what little time they had together a memorable one.
Hart of Christmas is a heart-warming holiday story of two people, who even in the midst of broken dreams and heartache, create their own special Christmas, and together they find a gift more precious than any found under a Christmas tree – they find the gift of love.
