Journey to Centauri by G.H. Dominick
This story, set in the not too distant future from 2045, where space travel within the solar system has already been realised and mostly by private funding. However, the private company that sent the first astronauts to Mars has an even greater ambition; to send six astronauts on a 60 year journey to the nearest star, Alpha Centauri, as there is recent indication there may be intelligent life. The cost of funding this private mission is enormous, but the company wants to know what is out there – at all costs, as great profit could be made! It is also a huge gamble from the human perspective, as they have no idea how people will react on a 60 year space voyage. They say that the best part of going away is the journey; safe to say that not everything goes to plan. With action and startling consequences, human nature comes into its own in this romantically charged, perilous trip into the unknown…
