The Coming Of Dawn is a never before told thriller with all the gripping components (murder, mystery, tragedy, revenge, sex, romance, deception, fascinating flashbacks and unforgettable characters) to keep the reader captivated from the beginning to the shocking end. The action moves between Jamaica, Atlanta, New York and St. Kitts against the backdrop of World War II through the Civil Rights Era. This novel is a intriguing story of two families – one African-American, the other Italian-American, and how their lives are intertwined through mysterious fate when a handsome, wealthy white businessman from New York is saved from drowning by a beautiful black lawyer, alone on vacation in Jamaica. It’s a literary portrait of how Fate, irony and unforeseen circumstances connect the past to the future in their lives in ways unimaginable. It’s a fascinating story of strong patriarchal influence and untold courage in the South before the Civil Rights Movement. This multi-dimensional tale begins with Tom Jefferson and his escape from a near lynching experience, his strange bond with Bo Hollingsworth, the very wealthy heir to the largest fortune in the state of Georgia; his memory-stained enlistment in the US military during World War II and the chronicling of one of the most tragic incidents in Naval history (The Port Chicago Disaster)…Enter the main character, Tom’s daughter (Pepper Jefferson), a young beautiful lawyer, who overcomes a disfiguring childhood tragedy, to become the first black woman since Reconstruction to enroll in the prestigious Vassar College for Women; and her subsequent journey following her fateful encounter with the head of the largest publishing empire in the world. (Tony Mangetti) The story also follows Mangetti in the aftermath of his wife dying in childbirth and the mysterious slaying of his favorite uncle. The characters include his father, the highly esteemed patriarch Carmen Mangetti and Tony’s two distinguished, yet fascinating cohorts, Sebastian Lang, the free-spirited, celebrated author, and his enigmatic business partner, Vic Aspetti. The reader tags along intensely, while Tony, the unknowing object of a Mafia vendetta seeks the truth behind his rescue, and struggles to overcome a series of personal tragedies. This story is filled with unsolved mysteries, a host of unforgettable characters, ironic twists, unpredictable romance, a high profile kidnapping, supernatural phenomena, uncommon bonds of friendship, and deadly family secrets.
