The Witness by Max Hudson
Special Agent Layton McKnight wants nothing more than to catch the family of criminals known as The Church Family. It is the most important case of his life, and though he has been making steady progress, he can feel that the case is going to stall without something huge happening.

That’s when something does happen, something that he hadn’t been expecting at all.

Things fall into his lap, when the police around the city find one of the Church boys going around and doing heists all by himself. Special Agent Layton McKnight seems to think that this is going to be easy, that he's going to be able to crack him.

His plan is to make Chase Church tell him exactly what he needs to know to bring the rest of the Church family down. But things are not that simple. Instead of finding the hardened criminal that he expects, Chase Church is a vulnerable young man who Layton can’t help but identify with, and eventually, he comes to the realization that he might be a better witness than suspect.

Unfortunately, that realization seems to come around the same time that Layton starts to realize that he’s probably falling in love with his witness. Which could put everything that he cares about at risk, including the man in front of him.

Please Note: This book contains adult language & steamy adult activities, it is intended for 18+ Adults Only. Novel, approx. 60,000 words in length. HEA (happy ever after ending). Does not end with a "cliffhanger."
