Amish Heart and Soul: Inspirational Clean Amish Romance by Emma Cartwright
Beth is in love with Jonah, a love that would seem could never be broken, but when Jonah informs her he has to leave their community because of a duty to his Englisher friend, Beth's world is thrown into turmoil
Beth Fisher is living the dream. Strong and happy in her faith and about to become a baptized member of the community, she has every reason to believe that her future is secure. Her beau, Jonah King, is on the cusp of proclaiming his love for her, and a proposal won't be far off.

But then, he shocks her with some terrible news about the future, one that takes her from a life of security to one of fear and worry. He has enlisted as a soldier in the Vietnam War. Her mind can't comprehend his actions. The Amish don't fight, and even when he explains his reasons, she resists. Then, he offers her a promise of marriage upon his return, and she gives in, sending him off with her love.

While Jonah is away, her heart refuses to stop hoping for a bright tomorrow even as she resists the worry that he will not return. She writes long letters and rereads the few she receives in return. She wants to ignore the changes she sees in her fiancée, but she cannot. He left a carefree young man, and she fears he will come back bitter and angry.

Finally, Jonah returns, but as she suspected, he is not the man he once was. His heart and will are broken. He tries to release her from their promise, but she refuses. Beth tries to hold onto her beliefs in God's goodness, but as she is tested, she finds herself struggling. With the help of her dear friend and Jonah's brother, she finds a way to have a faith that is more meaningful and offers her comfort during a hard time.

Will her newfound strength in God help her through this time?

Will she be able to pull Jonah back from the brink of his despair in life, God and mankind?

She prays that God's will falls in line with her own, but in the end, she must release control and can only pray for the man she loves...
