Airman Kurt Jansen wasn’t the first nor will he be the last to follow in his unit leader's footsteps, giving up active duty to work a regular nine to five at a nearby base. He trusted only certain men to watch his back during wartime, so when his comrades left one by one the elite unit they all had been a part of for years and move to Dalton, GA where they were finding not perfect women but the perfect women for them, Kurt moved too.

He wasn’t looking for love however. Life was good. He was carefree and made friends faster than a runaway train wherever he went. But, if love happened to find him, he’d take it from there. Toccara Buford didn’t want to be taken anywhere by a man... anymore. She had been strung along in too many dead-end relationships already and wasn’t about to be taken for a ride again. Creating a place for entrepreneurs to grow their businesses in the service industry was good enough for her.

But, what will she do when a happy-go-lucky man with a soldier’s loyalty and a gentlemen’s mentality moves next door then finds his firstborn on his front steps? Will she help him create a nurturing environment for the baby or leave them both floundering?
