Growl by Sway Jones
Henry was a bear shifter. Hence why he lived in the Smokey Mountains National Park away from most people. He ventured into town once a week with his best friend Alex, but mostly he kept to himself and foraged and fished for his food.

Building a big home he had anticipated a large family occupying it. Unlike his childhood, he intended to keep his litters together if he ever had cubs. He wouldn't separate them from each other by having a different mother give birth to each litter, and he wouldn't travel from litter to litter "visiting" his children. All of them would live under one roof with one dad and one mom.

Therein lied the problem.

His mate.

She-bears were few and far between. After the last generation’s purge by the humans, they hadn’t returned in the same numbers as they had been before. That left humans to breed with. He hated humans for what they had done to his kind. What they continued to do to his clan.

While there was a détente between humans and shifters it was tenuous. But when his mate turns out to be a curvy human, can he give up his prejudices about them and take the woman as his mate? Or will he never be able to overlook her humanness.
