Tusk Troop by D.A. Navarra
Deep in the southern tip of Africa, a group of tourists meet for a week-long adventure through Cape Town, Knysna, and a wild animal safari in the east. Immensely different back in their hometowns, they immediately form a bond that will forgive their dissimilarities. Two of the troop are teenagers nearing their twenties, and their bond is closer than either could imagine. While the tourists experience a land of strange beauty, a vastly different culture, and a multitude of large animals, another trio is approaching the same area for a completely different reason. Theirs is an adventure involving violence and greed, and only they can possibly spoil the fun of the others.

Tusk Troop is a novel that takes its readers on the adventure, with twists and turns in every chapter. It also describes some of the atrocities occurring in South Africa and other similar nations on that continent. Poaching is still a major concern, and only through education and help can the animals win.
