Eluding Fate by Delilah Mohan
The smell of coffee.
A wall of notes.
A story of salvation with a glimmer of hope.

Spencer

Seven o’clock – shower.
Seven fifty – coffee.
Eight fourteen – work.
My time, my schedule, it was perfect and precise, leaving no room for fate to intervene. Until the day I ran into the curvy red head, spilling my coffee down her shirt, and forever altering my balance. I wasn’t looking for a friendship. I didn’t need an escape. But, with each second I spent near her, my mind blurred, my heart sped, and my soul yearned for the simple moments next to her.

Mari

A piece of paper, a lost soul, an unexpected friendship. . . not my typical Tuesday. But, then it happened: Spencer Sully plowed into me. Suddenly my life no longer was about yoga class and taco night. He was arrogant, unusually punctual and stubborn. And somewhere between shared pints of ice cream and Chinese take-out, he wiggled his way into my life, bringing with him his broken pieces, the threads of family to which he so desperately clung, and silently begged for me to make him whole. He thought they needed me, but I needed them a whole lot more.
