by Mimi Wilde
I wanted the part. I was born to play the part.
But the man who wrote the play hated me. My husband suggested I try and talk to him, but I knew he didn’t want to talk. I knew what he would demand of me. I made up my mind to give him whatever he asked. He asked a great deal and before it was over, I realized I was changed. I also realized I didn’t want to go back to the way I lived, to my boring marriage, to my life. I wanted the things this man could offer.
