Out of Love

Min and Daisy last saw each other fifteen years ago – when Min discovered Daisy in bed with Min’s boyfriend. Now the two women meet again at a university reunion and attempt to rekindle their dead friendship.

When single Daisy goes to stay with Min and her family, each woman must confront the path she has chosen. Daisy has spent the intervening years as a Cambridge academic – unmarried, independent and happily conscious of having life just as she wants it. Eccentric Min has been struggling with her work as a writer, a large old house she can’t manage, difficult children and a bad-tempered husband. The two women’s renewed friendship thrives – until Daisy and Robert find themselves attracted to each other.

Elegantly written, witty and perceptive, ‘Out of Love’ is a novel that explores various kinds of love – love between parents and their children; love between friends; sexual love – and asks which in the end matters more, friendship or passion?

‘Out of Love’ was Victoria Clayton’s first novel, followed by ‘Past Mischief’, ‘Dance With Me’ and ‘Running Wild’: all four are being republished through the Kindle Store in Autumn 2012.
