This tale takes place in an era of unknown beasts, monsters, and demons all known as mephistopheles... but no human knows that these creatures actually exist. It's a time when the medieval period reigned with the lore of monsters that drank blood and lived for thousands of years, but, as everyone says, these are just legends... or are they?
An island is discovered far off the coast of the Kingdom of Eldaraya. King William, taking great caution to reign over this new piece of land, has decided to send a large group of his most favored knights and soldiers to scout the area and to make sure the island is habitable for his people.
Airella Devereaux, a girl who happens to have stronger abilities than most people, happens to play a large role in this journey. Centuries ago, mephistopheles blood fell into her bloodline and from ancestor to ancestor, beast-like traits carried through the generations. However, no one knows of this. Not even herself. She is handpicked by the king to travel with his army of scouts. They sail off into the unknown on wooden warships, and she finds that her trust is limited.
The island they arrive on is filled with forestry, and it looks like it has never been touched by humans before. That was until the scouts come across an old and deserted village that looked to be hundreds of years old. Seeing that the island was an abandoned kingdom with more to discover, they realize that they are not alone and quickly learn why it had been abandoned.
Little do they know is that the island had been inhabited by mephistopheles, or miscreants as they put it, for centuries now. Airella then meets Sirius, a reaper and native mephistopheles to the isle. Astonished by one another's existence, their bonds develop closer and closer. What she doesn't know is that he will change her life forever as their journey unfolds.
